Everybody in the vehicle must wear a seat belt. Children must be in suitable seating arrangements with the law stating they must be in protective seating until the age of seven. Further recommendations include rearward facing seats until about the age of four and booster seats until the age of ten to twelve. As a result, Sweden has one of the lowest fatality records, in particular for children (12 deaths in car accidents in 2005).
